Invest in 21st century infrastructure - while completing our 20th century infrastructure

We must think of infrastructure as the foundations that our communities and businesses need to thrive.

I have walked and worked in communities here in Northern New Mexico that do not have access to the internet, or even to clean water. These communities have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic because of their lack of basic infrastructure. I am in Congress to ensure that these communities are not forgotten -- and that investments are directed toward where they are needed most.

We must build broadband and incentivize clean energy. We need a rural policy that keeps farmers and ranchers on their land and are part of the solution to create more jobs and help build a rural green economy.

We must also expand our understanding of infrastructure to include critical services like health care, early childhood education, and public schools, which are critical to the sustaining of thriving communities.
